Overview of NSIC Registration
NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation Limited) is a government undertaking which was established in 1955. NSIC is operating under Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs). At present, NSIC is a reputed Mini Ratna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) and also holds ISO 9001:2015 certification.
NSIC was established to promote & fosters the growth of MSMEs operating in India and to act as a mediator to aid Small Scale Industries. It provides unified support services in various fields that include technology, support service, finance, and marketing. It registers Micro & Small Enterprises under Single Point Registration Scheme for association in Government purchases.
To obtain registration, enterprises having MSME or Udyog Aadhaar registration can apply online or by submitting an application at one of the NSIC offices. On submission of the application, the NSIC forwards the application to an zonal, branch or sub-branch office nearest to the applicant for completing technical inspection of the unit and forwarding of recommendation for NSIC registration. On receiving the inspection report, NSIC grants registration to the MSME unit.

What are the Eligibility Criteria for GETTING AN NSIC Registration?
The eligibility criteria is mandatory before applying for NSIC registration-
1) All Micro & Small Enterprises having EM Part-II (Optional)/ Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) /Udyam Registration are eligible for registration with NSIC under its Single Point Registration Scheme (SPRS).

Plant & machinery is up to INR 25 lakhs
Plant & machinery is up to INR 10 Crore
Turnover up to 5 Crore
Turnover up to 50 Crore
2) Holding MSME UDYAM Certificate.
3) Completed one year of business commencement.
Note- Micro & Small Enterprises who have already commenced their commercial production but not completed one year of existence. The Provisional Registration Certificate can be issued to such Micro & Small Enterprises under Single Point Registration scheme with monitory limit of Rs. 5.00 Lacs
What are the Registration Criteria for GETTING AN NSIC Registration?
The Registration criteria is mandatory before applying for NSIC registration
- Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) involved in manufacturing & Services are eligible for registration
- Traders are not eligible for registration under this Scheme.
- The validity of SPRS Certificate is of 2 years from the date of registration and there after renewed after every two years.
- MSEs already commenced their commercial production (Start Ups) but not completed one year of existence are eligible for Provisional Registration for one year. MSEs can apply for full registration after completion of one year.

- Declaration Certificate from the Directors, Proprietor and Partner whether or not they have any link with large scale Unit

What is the Validity of NSIC Registration?
Under Single Point Registration NSIC Certificate granted to MSMEs remains valid for 2 years which is renewed after the expiry of such 2 years. You must also note that Provisional NSIC certificate granted to MSMEs with a pecuniary limit of INR 5 Lakhs is valid for 1 year from the date of issue of the Certificate.
The MSEs engaged in following activities are not eligible for registration under NSIC:-
- Manufacture of Medicine and drugs except MSE (unit) engaged in manufacturing and supply of Ayurvadic, Unani, Sidha and Homeopathic Medicines
- Wholesale trading, Retail Trading or commission agents
- The MSEs who have been black listed till expiry of such period.
- The proprietor/partner/director/Karta of the MSEs has been convicted for any criminal offence.
RENEWAL OF REGISTRATION
- The validity of SPRS Certificate is of 2 years from the date of registration and MSE unit can apply for renewal 6 months before expiry of certificate.
- MSEs Coming for renewal before expiry of SPRS certificate gets discount of 50% on renewal fee.
- MSEs Units having no change from previous issued Certificate can apply renewal online.
Note:- In case of renewal of registration where monitory limit is more than Rs 10 Crore and inspection has not been carried out by Technical Inspecting Agency or NSIC during the last one year, such units will be inspected by the respective Branch Office of NSIC before issue of renewal Certificate. The Inspection fees shall be equivalent to Inspection fee charged by the Rites
